02:28 pm: tomatoes
Low of 31 degrees F tonight. After that, at least two more weeks above freezing. I have picked everything that is ripe enough. There are still some orange and many full-size green Roma-type tomatoes. Would you pick everything and call it a summer, or cover and hope?

I would cover and hope. I just picked more ripe tomatoes today after two frosts in a row.

How tired are you of picking tomatoes? We didn't shed many tears when our tomatoes had pretty much packed it in two weeks ago because we were experiencing garden fatigue.

I've tarped them and left an incandescent lightbulb/worklight in there and had no damage save for the things that were actually touching the plastic, down to 25F.

Are you in the part that's having a freaking heat wave? It's warm here during the day, but cold at night: my favorite weather.

We are--88F today! I know what you mean about the warm days and cool nights, though. Good combination. M.
